SKI THE SLOPES

We are less than an hour from Bridger Bowl and Big Sky Ski Resorts. More specifically, we're 21 miles (35 minutes) to Bridger Bowl Ski Resort and 48 miles (~1 hour) to Big Sky Ski Resort. Enjoy parking your snow vehicle in your dedicated garage for the quick trip to the ski hills or enjoy nearby trails for snow shoeing and cross country skiing.

TAKE A HIKE

Trail heads galore. From Mountains to Main that accommodate both hiking and mountain biking. One of our personal favorites is the Sourdough Canyon Trail. We take the kids to the creek and enjoy the wide trail for our beginning mountain biking skills. We recommend downloading the AllTrails mobile application.

FLY FISHING

Missouri River, Madison River, Yellowstone River... too many choices for some of the best fly fishing in the world. There are many local guides and outfitters to choose from. You may be one of the lucky guests who convinces Scott to come out from retirement to share 44 years of his Montana Fly Fishing Secrets.

SOAR ABOVE GALLATIN VALLEY

Experience the picturesque views of mountain peaks and rolling countrysides as you float above the gorgeous landscape of Montana. Relax and take in the breathtaking sights as you rise above the ground, checking off an exciting item on your bucket list. There is truly no better way to see the beautiful Gallatin Valley! BOGERT POOL

Bogert Pool is an outdoor facility that has two unique swimming areas: a 25-yard pool ranging from 3.5- to 9-feet deep and a shallow pool with depths from 1-foot to 3-feet that are ideal for young children. The shallow pool is home to “Delaware the Duck,” a slide designed for small children. The deep pool has a climbing wall, small slide and zip line. ICE SKATING

There are a number of free outdoor ice skating rinks in Bozeman. We like the one at Bogert Park. Most of the free outdoor parks are a little rough so be prepared to fall on the ice. Still a fun winter day activity. We do have a number of kids and adult sized skates if your sizes fit you're welcome to borrow them for the day. WHITEWATER RAFTING

Join the Montana Whitewater Rafting & Zipline Co.'s fun-loving and knowledgeable guides for a unique and memorable adventure! RODEO

There are a number of spring and summer rodeo's around Montana but if you time your trip around the Bozeman Stampede then you can't miss this rodeo at the Fairgrounds. The Bozeman Stampede is a non-profit rodeo that was started in 2010 by a handful of Bozemanites with the intension of bringing back a sanctioned rodeo to Bozeman for the first time in over 50 years. Their goals… provide a fun community event that would benefit Bozeman business and community both culturally and economically, and raise money for quality local Ag groups. The rodeo is a sanctioned under the PRCA.

OUSEL FALLS

Ousel Falls Park Trail is a 1.6 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located in Big Sky near Gallatin Gateway, Montana that features a waterfall and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and walking and is best used from May until October. Dogs permitted. Easy for the entire family and you're rewarded at the end with a gorgeous waterfall.

JUMP TIME

Not unique to Bozeman by any means, but JumpTime is our go to winter and rainy day activity for the kids. The Bozeman facility was designed with all ages and abilities in mind. ALLISON MCGREE FINE ART

A sixth generation Montanan, McGree comes from a long line of Big Sky heritage. A MAJESTIC ANIMAL SANCTUARY

Montana Grizzly Encounter is a Grizzly Bear Rescue & Education Sanctuary in Bozeman, Montana. Founded in 2004, MGE provides a spacious and natural home for rescued grizzlies. At the same time it offers the public a place to come and learn about grizzly bears as they watch the majestic animals “up close” in a beautiful mountain setting.

STUNNING BACKCOUNTRY VIEWS

Lava Lake (Cascade Creek) Trail is a 6 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Gallatin Gateway, Montana that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, fly fishing, horses, and snowshoeing and is best used from June until October. Dogs and horses are also able to use this trail.

FLOAT THE MADISON

In the summer months you'll see tons of college kids in their swim suits and tubes floating the Madison river. It's an inexpensive lazy-river experience with breathtaking Montana river views. There are a number of companies that offer bus rides to drop off points if you don't have a DD or a way to move two vehicles.

MUSEUM OF THE ROCKIES

Museum of the Rockies (MOR) is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, a college-level division of Montana State University, a Smithsonian Affiliate, and a repository for state and federal fossils. MOR is recognized as a world-class cultural and natural history museum and research facility. It is renowned for displaying an extensive collection of dinosaur fossils, including the fully-mounted Montana's T. rex skeleton! MOR delights members and visitors with changing exhibits from around the world, cultural and natural history exhibits, planetarium shows, educational programs and camps, insightful lectures, benefit events, and a museum store.

DAVE'S SUSHI

Bozeman's favorite laid back local sushi joint. If you're looking for plush modern trimmings and post - modern art hanging from the walls, this ain't your place. Yes, we're recommending sushi in Montana. They have amazingly fresh sushi and a friendly atmosphere modeled after the "hang-loose" style of Hawaii. Their creative menu and location just a couple blocks from downtown Bozeman makes this a must visit.

BLACKBIRD

Probably the fanciest restaurant off of Main street in Bozeman. It can get crowded so be sure to make a reservation. Regular menu items include salads, wood-fired vegetables, pizzas, and specials. Wine lovers will enjoy our hand picked list of our favorite wines by the bottle or glass.

BEST BURGER

Definition of a hole in the wall. This little shack near four corners has some juicy fresh burgers and amazing shakes.

FIVE ON BLACK

Yum, fresh Brazillian bowls made to order in minutes. One of our favorites for dine in or pickup. The owner, Tom Snyder, was a finance major at the University of Montana. As he explored different cuisines and cultures, Tom and his girlfriend (now wife, Lauren) fell in love with Brazil and their cooking styles. The way they used such simple ingredients to make such flavorful, healthy, and amazing dishes. The menu is based on traditional dishes but with a twist - such as deconstructing a classic Brazilian Fish Stew from up North and creating the Spicy Coconut Sauce.

PAKEEZAH

A modern Indian fine dining experience brought to you by Curry Express of Belgrade, which was the first Indian restaurant in the valley. Traditionally made, mouthwatering flavors of India is what we bring for our patrons. An experience in the world of exotic flavors and recipes. By default, it's not spicy, so if you like your Indian food spicy be sure to mention it when you order. They deliver!

SWEET CHILI

Sweet Chili offers an array of Thai, Chinese and Japanese selections with a focus on fresh and authentic ingredients. Sweet Chili Asian Bistro is Located right in the Heart of Downtown Bozeman at 101 East Main St. At the corner of Main and Black Next to Meridian.

GRANNY'S GOURMET DONUTS

Granny's Gourmet Donuts ranked the best donut in Montana from USA Today and Food and Wine Magazine. The donut shop has been a Bozeman staple for locals, tourists, and Montana State University students for twenty years. They only take cash, so be sure to bring at least $10 for a dozen. Opens at 8am.

LAND OF MAGIC

Too many steak restaurants fill their plates with frills, but Land of Magic Steakhouse does things differently. When you want to chow down on some of the best steak in the Treasure State, come to our Steakhouse in Logan-Manhattan, MT. Conveniently located off Logan exit 283. This local restaurant is family-owned. Just got back from floating down the river and don't want to change? Feel like getting all dressed up? Either way works for us-there's no dress code at Land of Magic Steakhouse. You'll feel right at home surrounded by our rustic décor, large TVs and your neighbors.

LOCKHORN HARD CIDER

Lockhorn is a small, family-owned cidery. We specialize in crafting all natural hard ciders of the highest quality. Our “Bone Dry” ciders are made especially for those who crave a seriously dry, crisp and refreshing adult beverage free of added sweetness and chemical stabilizers. At 6.9 percent alcohol, the first sip of Lockhorn cider has a bite, but the subtle, complex flavors resonate on the tongue, rather like wine. Our downtown Bozeman tasting room is a classy and comfortable remodel of a historic farm house garage with a cozy outdoor patio and fireplace surrounded by native wildflowers, grasses and trees.

PICKLE BARREL

Pickle Barrel has been a staple of Bozeman, MT for over 30 years. Started by Ken and Kerry Olson in 1975 Pickle Barrel is currently found in 6 different communities from Belgrade to Sioux Falls. However, all share the quality sandwich, and community involvement that has made Pickle Barrel so famous inside and outside of Montana. Pickle Barrel was voted best sandwich in Bozeman for seven years running and continues to draw new fans in and outside of its local communities

THE NOVA CAFE

Nova Café is located in the heart of historic downtown Bozeman and proudly serves up the best breakfast in Bozeman. Their unique breakfast and lunch menus offer local ingredients deliciously prepared and served in a colorful and bustling cafe. The menu provides traditional diner fare such as pancakes, eggs benedict and omelettes as well as a variety of vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. The coffee and espresso are roasted right down the street by Rockford Coffee, breads are baked by local restaurant Feed Café and our breakfast pastries are baked fresh daily in-house. Meats are raised humanely and locally when possible. Produce is sourced as regionally as our climate allows. Nova Café is family friendly with a kids menu and high chairs.

LITTLE STAR

Family-owned operation: Husband and wife team Charley Graham and Lauren Reich are joint owners, combining their talents of chef and farmer. Charley runs the kitchen and Lauren grows much of the produce for the small modern diner in downtown Bozeman, Montana. Charley has cooked for 3 different small restaurants in the past 8 years. At Little Star Diner he develops dishes for the always changing menu based on ingredient availability and quality. All other produce is sourced from the best of the area's organic growers. They use meat from small family ranches in and around Gallatin Valley. Their bread and other baked goods are baked in house daily using organic flour and grains from Montana. They strive to provide the best quality ingredients from local growers and ranchers, preparing them in a simple and tasty way. The menus highlight the peak flavors of each season and each small farm in our area.

YO POKE

Poké (pronounced “POH-keh” just like OK!) originates in Hawaii. What is Poké? - Poke means “to slice or cut” in Hawaiian and refers to chunks of raw, marinated fish which is then tossed over rice and topped with vegetables and sauces. Yo Poke is a family who loves seafood! Over the years they have travelled the world researching the perfect Poke bowl and love it so much they wanted to bring the perfect Poke experience to Bozeman. The fish is sourced from the same place as Dave's Sushi downtown and for ~$15 a bowl it's much cheaper while still satisfying that sushi craving. Fast , super healthy, fresh, fun, tasty, flavorful & so versatile you can have infinite combinations.

SIDE WALL

Pizza is a bit expensive (see:Blackbird) in Bozeman which is surprising as a college town. But one of our personal favorites is Side Wall close to Main. Cosmic pizza is good for cheaper pies. Sidewall is a local pizza shop where you can personalize nearly everything about your pizza, including the: Sauces Chesses Veggies Meats They offer hand-tossed 14-inch thin crust pizzas and 12-inch house-made gluten-free options. Dine in or grab one of their delicious stuffed pizzas to go. Closed Mondays.
