Well, that was scary. The kids and I went for a hike on Triple Tree Trail and my oldest pointed out the “giant elk”. Turns out it was a bull moose enjoying his dinner a few yards away. My own mother bear instincts pulled my kiddos close as we walked away slowly. Luckily he just ignored us. I probably should’ve brought our bear spray with us. Definitely recommend picking up some if you plan to do any wilderness adventures during your stay – you can find some in a 2-pack at Costco. You never know what wildlife you’re going to run into on a Montana trail.
